A fantastic pottery covered casserole made and signed by McCoy. I believe this is called “Lost Glaze” very much like their Cascade line in a rare color of lavender / soft pink, cream and metallic gold. The marbled design is gorgeous. This piece is nearly 4 pounds alone and is in super nice vintage condition with maybe a sight touch of wear on the handle, and a small round factory flaw on the lid that blends into the design, as shown.
This is in the 3rd Volume of the 2002 McCoy book. Page 57.
** I just found out that this was made with 24K gold and that it was too expensive to make any longer, instead of the rumored loss of the glaze recipe, so they called it the “lost glaze”.
It is 7” across the opening x 3” high without lid. It is 9” wide handle to handle and is aprox 5” high with lid.
Such a great piece to display or use!
