Do you have a store that I could visit in Winston-Salem?No I don't. I really love selling vintage clothing and accessories to men and women on the world wide web.Back to Top |
Do you ever take requests to find certain items?Definitely! I have done that many times and I love doing it. Just tell me what your looking for and if I don't already have it, I will look for it and let you know when I find your special item. I drag my husband along on the weekends and sometimes during the week to scour the countryside for great vintage clothing. I never know what I will find!Back to Top |
Does your clothing come from a non-smoking, non-pet home?We try not to buy anything that smells like smoke. Our home is a non-smoking one. If for some very weird reason there is a light smoke smell, I will definitely mention it. As far as the pet goes, I have an absolutely adorable, non-shedding, Wheaton Terrier named Abbey Gale. My husband gave her as a gift to me after I lost my precious Dad 3 years ago. She has been my angel!Back to Top |
What is your favorite tool for cleaning vintage clothing? If it is cotton or another washable fabric, I use Shaklee's Nature Bright. It uses the oxygen in the air to activate and clean. Just soak your clothes in cool to warm water for 1 to 5 days, remembering to change the water frequently and you will be amazed at how clean your items become. I soaked a Victorian cotton day dress that I thought was ruined from age spots, and it turned out beautifully. It is amazing! You can also use Restoration or Quilt Wash from Lancaster, Pa. It works well also. Just start with small amounts and remember to rinse galore!Back to Top |
How often do you update your website?I try to add vintage clothes and accessories to the site as often as I can and at least once a week. I have an unlimited supply of vintage clothing and accessories so I have 100 times more than what you see on the site! If you are looking for something specific, please email me! I probably have what your looking for, or something close to it! I am the only person that updates my vintage store and do it all, from shopping ( how fun:-), to taking the photos, to adding them to the website. Plus I have another business too, but offering great, wearable vintage clothing and accessories is my passion!Back to Top |
What kind of advise can you give to those of us that are new to collecting vintage clothing?1. Enjoy what you buy! Don't just let it sit in a closet and not get seen. Of course, take care of your vintage items so that future generations can enjoy a part of history also!2. Buy what you like! Be yourself. Be different from everyone else! That is what wearing vintage clothing and accessories is all about. 3. Remember that most vintage clothing has been worn. Even if it is still in the package, it may not be a perfect item and is not like something modern that is right off the shelf. Tiny flaws are part of the character of the item and is part of the story of the past. Don't expect perfection just enjoy it for what it is, vintage:-) Back to Top |
