Vintage 40's Vogue Pattern 8589 Jacket Blouse

An unused and unprinted pattern by Vogue, #8589 for a ladies jacket blouse. It is an "Easy to Make" pattern. Dart fitted single breasted jacket-blouse with or without the narrow band collar and peplum. Choice of two style peplums. One with point and inverted pleat at center back, the other is even depth all around and has flare concentrated at back. Slide fastener, novelty hook and eye, or buttoned closing at center front. Novelty motifs at shoulders and braid trimming optional. Large bustle-back bow is optional. Long darted-top sleeve or short gathered-top bias sleeve.
